Come to the Library's Stimson Room this Thursday, April 11, from 4 to 5pm as we provide a tour of the College's wondrous Dante Collection made up of more than 200 illustrated editions of The Divine Comedy, from 1481 to the present. The illustrators represented range from anonymous engravers to well-known artists such as Dali, Blake, and Botticelli. The collection also contains a number of translations in a variety of languages, including Welsh, Japanese, Arabic, and Polish.
Professor Mark Peterson will offer an introduction to the collection, and of course we'll have Divine Comedy button-making and treats (devil's food cake, angel's food cake, Italian cookies, and more!). So take a break from the purgatory of preparing for exams, eat our heavenly food, and look at pictures of poor souls who are much worse off than you are!
